Among all these, there are a few who are the most popular and are the commonly used attorneys.

What do Business Attorneys handle?
In the types of law, one which is broad and would usually deal with a combination of several other law types including mergers, acquisitions, employment, and tax is called the corporate/business law. Business law attorneys mostly engage in business legal activities like forming a company or general needs ranging from tax compliance to internal/external employment issues. While some business lawyers focus on small establishments and start-ups, others serve as counsel to larger ventures. Under the business law, we could have the business transactional lawyers who handle transactions such as deals negotiations and drafting employment agreements or the business litigation lawyers who handle company law suits e.g. when you are sued for contract violation.

What do Criminal Attorneys handle?
Lawyers who take charge of minor (also known as a misdemeanor) or major (also known as a felony) offenses and the procedures governing arrests, bail, preliminary hearings, court trials, verdict hearing, probation, parole, appeal hearings or post-conviction are called criminal lawyers. Criminal defense attorneys always provide counsel when one is charged with a criminal offense and ensures constitutional protections as the right to remain silent and the right to a quick and fair trial are upheld. Cases handled by these attorneys range from minor offenses such as shoplifting to major ones like assault or drug trafficking.
With the growing amount of businesses and the need for individuals to seek protection from the government by either helping to reduce a sentence or staying entirely out of jail, the business and criminal lawyers remain the most common and sought after type of lawyers and are required frequently.
